Each finalist earned their spot at the competition by participating in a series of knowledge-based and hands-on tests in their field beginning this summer.

“The ETCS does an amazing job supporting the trades. They have allowed our trades to come out of the attics and basements to celebrate what we do for a living on national television. I can’t thank everyone enough that is involved in the ETCS.” – Craig Childress, 2023 1st place winner of plumbing and HVAC

“The HVAC National Championship is an exciting competition that showcases the top talent in the industry. I finished in second place last year, and it’s incredible to have the opportunity to return this year and give it another shot. Wishing everyone the best of luck!” – Dagner Espinosa, 2023 2nd place winner of HVAC

“Competing in the US Auto Tech National Championship has been an incredible journey that pushed my skills to the limit. I’m proud to have placed on the podium for the last three years, winning the first two competitions in 2021 and 2022, representing the University of Northwestern Ohio to the best of my ability. These experiences have sharpened my technical expertise and reinforced my passion for automotive technology.” – Randy Giroux, 2023 2nd place student winner of auto championship
