Administrative Professionals Keep Workplaces Running

Administrative professionals keep workplaces everywhere running, and we’re celebrating them this Administrative Professionals Day (April 24) and Administrative Professionals Week (April 21–27)!

The history of these observances dates back to 1942, when the National Secretaries Association was created to promote administrative roles and their importance to the economy, following a shortage of administrative personnel during World War II. The first National Secretaries Day and National Secretaries Week were held in 1952 and were later renamed.

We now celebrate administrative professionals every year for all the work they do! Take time to recognize the administrative professionals in your workplace with these ideas:

  • Share your appreciation and write a thank-you note
  • Consider giving a small gift
  • Recognize them on social media using #AdminProfessionalsDay

If you’re an administrative professional, your work has a great impact and doesn’t go unnoticed. Celebrate by pondering your strengths and thinking about all the amazing ways you contribute to your workplace.
